Longitudinal Multi-Beam Indoor Positioning/Distance Measurement Radar is based on longitudinal waves near the ultra-low frequency of 200 kHz, which exhibit excellent physical properties suitable for indoor positioning. Compared to acoustic longitudinal waves, they have higher frequency, shorter wavelengths, minimal diffraction, slower propagation speed, and more concentrated energy propagation. They can penetrate through solids and liquids and are insensitive to external light and electromagnetic fields, making them suitable for harsh environments like darkness, dust, smoke, strong electromagnetic interference, and toxicity. Therefore, Huaxing has proposed and implemented a positioning method and system applicable for indoor environments, underground tunnels, and pipe corridors.
The core components of this system consist of two fixed transceiver base stations and one mobile transceiver terminal. The mobile transceiver initiates a longitudinal multi-beam signal, and upon receiving the signal, the fixed base station returns a confirmation signal after a fixed delay. The transmission distance is calculated using the flight time, achieving a precise measurement accuracy of up to 7mm error within a test distance of 10 meters.
